I had my baby shower a week before Abbey was born, so my birth announcements doubled as Thank Yous, haha! I think they're great to send, especially if you have family all over the place. Give yourself time to get adjusted before you stress yourself out about them. A few weeks is fine!
I didnt do them- with all the social network sites we have today I didnt see a point. Even if we hadnt put it on facebook..someone else wouldve & I just saw it as a waste. Within minutes after Preston was born there were emails, texts & facebook updates galore letting everyone know! Also, most people send them out after they have the newborn photos taken & my thing is...if you havent seen the baby or heard about the baby being born by the time its a 2-4 weeks old..then you arent really that "in the know" of my life...LOL! I think they're a cute idea though especially since you have a great photographer right on deck!

I've been thinking of these too lately.
Do you think it would be rude to hold off on the thankyou cards from the baby shower and send the announcements with them?
