"Our" Website

I recently dove in head first and decided to open up an online shop as I have talked about here many, many, times before. It's going pretty well so far! I'm still looking for blogs to sponsor & swap ads with - and maybe even have a giveaway. If you are interested let me know!

The shop can be located at www.bishopplacehandmade.com.

The point to this post is that husband calls it "our" website. Yes, I've done most of the work. Yes, I've had to overcome the significant learning curve, but he has supported me. He is invested. He is so emotionally supportive that he calls it our +website. It makes my heart pitter patter. He doesn't call it silly or a waste of time like he might justifiably have reason to do so. He supports me. He believes in me. He is certain it will be a success.

It's our website.

Every like on facebook, we have a party! He gets just as excited as I do over every comment, like, and share!

My husband believes in me.
His dreams are my dreams.
My dreams are his dreams.

I'm so proud to call him mine.

So, why don't you head over and check out our website.

Mommy Thoughts Thursday {SLEEP}

The story of a pregnant woman's night.

At the end of the day, when all is said and done and a pregnant lady finally gets to rest her head, she finds herself in the middle of a battle field.

Bedtime. Or at least that's the goal.

I first fight the urge to lift my larger than life maternity pillow into the bed in hopes of being able to snuggle with husband. I finally get myself up on the edge of the bed, one cheek at a time. Swing my heavy tree trunk legs around and lie down. Trying to catch my breath, I grab the covers with my toes (since I wouldn't dare try to reach them) and struggle to get them up to my chest... Finally husband notices my poor self and grabs them for me. I then lay down, still trying to catch my breath, and roll over in the most sexy exasperated, grunting way towards my husband.

We roll towards each other and grin, knowing that any efforts of love are impossible. Still trying to catch my breath, I realize that, undoubtedly, I will need that huge pillow. Being the stubborn woman that I am, I resist. "I do not need a pillow to help me sleep. I'll be fine." Right side. Grunt. Left side. Grunt. Back... Here I am out of breath just trying to get comfortable... when I realize I will, indeed, need that durn pillow to sleep. By this point husband knows what I need, and he gets up, grabs the Loch Ness monster of pillows and wraps it around me. I prop myself up on it in efforts to get this new body comfortable. Prop the belly, "rearrange," grab my blanket, catch my breath (again), and finally get comfortable.

"Whew, what a long day," I begin to think. "Tomorrow I'll need to wash the dishes, vacuum, call this lady, run that errand.... Oh hey Madison, thanks for that little wiggle!" Now that I'm comfortable, I have to pee. So, I slide half my pillow off the bed like a gate, and scoot to the end of the bed. I catch my breath before standing up for my mad dash to the potty. Waddle, waddle, waddle... I make it just in time. I have to sit on the toilet for a minute or two simply to (you guessed it) catch my breath before my journey back to my beloved (pillow).

Into the bed... one cheek at time. Grab the sheets with my toes... Ok, forget it. I'm sweating anyway... Snuggle my pillow. Catch my breath. Hm... Maybe this time I'll get some shut eye.

I'm then whisked away to the hospital, my husband is at work and my family is no where to be found. I deliver my little boy (BOY????) who has a full set of adult teeth, mustache, and can talk to me. Needless to say that made nursing a little.. awkward.

I look down at my belly... Rhythmic jolts startle me.

I sit straight up... "Whew, only a dream."

My belly is still dancing, though. One after the other... Hiccups. Madison has the hiccups. You may saw "Awwww," but it's not very cute in the middle of the night when it keeps you from sleeping. I try to distract myself and just get some sleep.... BUMP BUMP BUMP... I now get an opportunity to try and soothe my unborn child, which is really darlin, at any time of the day. I rub my belly and sing to my sweet little angel, rocking her to and fro. It of course doesn't help, but I end up rocking myself to sleep. For a few minutes.

Madison is soothed, and settles really low into my pelvic area. Of course. There goes the bladder. I forgo any efforts of "taking it easy" and sprint out of the bed, over my pillow, around the bed, over the laundry (and through the woods), and onto the toilet. Just in time. Huff. Puff. Huff. Puff. I try and catch my breath, and end up nodding off on the toilet. "Well this isn't safe.." I finish my business and mosey on back to the bed.

Into the bed... one cheek at time. Grab the sheets with my toes... Ok, forget it. I'm sweating anyway... Snuggle my pillow. Catch my breath. Hm... Maybe this time I'll get some shut eye.

I close my eyes out of exhaustion. Oh... and the heartburn. Can't forget the heartburn. Am I carrying a fire breathing dragon in there?... Then I wonder what time it is. Can't see the clock over my belly, can't roll over to grab my phone, so I must sit up. "Megan, chill... It doesn't matter, " I tell myself. It's driving me crazy at this point to know what freaking time it is. I wiggle myself off my back like a turtle who's been placed on it's back, and check my husbands clock. 5:13am. Great. There's no point.

WONK WONK WONK WONK

Construction workers.

BEEP BEEP BEEP BEEP BEEP

Alarm clocks.

Finally sleep finds me. 6:30-7:20.
When I'm supposed to be getting ready for work.

"It's a beautiful day in the neighborhood..."

oh... and btw, I opened the shop today

i {heart} my Hunty

I love him.
He is my world.
He loves me when i least deserve it.

The good, the bad, the awesome.

We are together forever.
We are happy together.

I love him because he's honest.
I love him because he protects me.

My husband is handsome.
He is Godly.

He gently corrects me,
but encourages me and lifts me up.

My husband longs to father my children.
He enjoys my silly quirks.

His laugh is captivating.

He makes fun of me when I fall off the bed.

We are perfect for each other.
He is slow to anger with me.

My hubster is my world.
No matter what, he's there for me.

He holds me when i cry over the dumb things.
He helps me through my {not so} miniature freak outs.

He supports my love for blogging and crafting.

My husband is amazing.
He's very talented.

My husband has a beautiful voice,
and I can't wait to hear him sing our babies to sleep.

"Every time I look into those puppy dog eyes I fall head over heels for him.
He's God's perfect gift for me. The slightest touch of his hand makes my
heart skip a beat. I have so much fun with him and never want to leave
his side. I feel like a giddy 13 year old girl when I think about him; he makes
my head spin. I've never been anywhere close to this happy. Happy doesn't
even describe it. I am so excited to love and serve this handsome creation.
The way he brushes my cheek when I am sad is perfect. I love the way he
tickles me, just to hear me giggle. He knows exactly how to send my bad
mood to the moon. He listens to music he hates, and creates playlists of
it, just because it makes me happy. He randomly brings me flowers just
because. He gives me his undivided attention. I love my RJ. He is so strong
and grounded. He's not afraid to kiss me in public. He is sweet to me even
when the guys are around. He tells me I'm beautiful despite my disbelief.
I love him. Our paths have been crooked and trampled upon. We have been
beaten and torn down. We messed up. Made mistakes... all to end up together.
It's so perfect. I would go through all the hurt and hearbreak a jillion times over
knowing that you were at the end of it all. I cannot wait to be your wife,
RJ. I promise to love you unconditionally. I promise to love the Lord and serve
beside you all the days of my life. You are my rock. You keep my in line.
You lead me, and gently correct me when I'm wrong. You're perfect for me.
Thank you for your steadfast, never failing love."    August 22, 2010

"It's Just an Iron"

When life kinda sucks, when the days are WAY too long, when I want to give up, when I ask why…
{ #1 I praise God }
{ #2 I count my blessings }
---------------------------------------------------------

I love my life.
I love my husband.
My husband is what keeps me going.
He keeps me grounded and put things in perspective.
He says things like,
“Keep it together, baby. It’s just an iron,”
that make me realize how ridiculous some of my tantrums are.
{yes, I have tantrums}
My husband was made for me. From the highest hair on his head, to his longest toe…. Perfect for me.
My husband is very dang cute.
He loves me with God’s love. He loves me like Christ loves the church.
He holds me when I’m feeling weary.
He wipes my tears when the days are dreary.
My husband lights my world.
My husband treats me like his princess.

I love my husband.
I love my soul mate.
I love my best friend.

A Culmination Post: several different topics

Well, I have many things to blog about...

1. My church, our upcoming revival, and a year of prayer
My church, Millbrook Baptist Church, has an upcoming revival that we are preparing for. Our pastor has been preaching on prayer and the importance of prayer for the past several weeks, and it is so intriguing. It's so neat to look at prayer in such a different light. The thing that has stuck out to me most is that in order to have powerful prayer meetings, the people have to be in "one accord." Basically this means that the people must be in harmony and believe the same things... basically. Harmony. What does harmony mean? Wikipedia states that harmony is love and agreement with those who care. Hmm... Let's ponder that. In order to have powerful prayer, we must be in one accord... with trickles down to love. Funny, because as Christians we believe that God is love. I must think some more on this topic...
My husband and I dedicate our Wednesday nights to serving the young people of our church, and tonight we had a prayer service in preparation for the revival. I would begin to describe it to you, but i cannot. Marvelous. Moving. Inspiring. Encouraging. One particular student i'm very proud of, Ashton, she stepped out of her comfort zone and prayed aloud in church for the very first time!!
Revival is coming, will you miss it?

2. I have an interview Friday
I have an interview with the State of Alabama Veterans Affairs as an Accounting Techician.
Say. A. Prayer.
3. WIWW
What I wore Wednesday: <----check it out!
I could not get the lighting to be in "one accord" with my camera, so i got aggitated and just started to dance... the result (above) was pretty coolio

not to mention...my hair was all a mess

so i just had a little fun

skinny black belt (hand me down), barney purple shirt (target),
pop of blue necklace (gift), pewter shoes (target)

dont worry, I tamed the mane before I left the house
editor fun

4. I have the best husband. Ever.
When we came home from church he asked me to stay in the car while he ran in for a second, of course I knew he was up to something. He came out and unloaded all of our things from the car and told me to go inside. I was greeted by white daises, a beautiful and sweet card (inscribed happy valentines  every day), and the sound of running water in the bathroom. He drew me a hot bubble bath, and cooked dinner while I relaxed in the tub. To top it all off, he loaded the dishwasher after dinner.
See. I told you. Best husband. Ever.

Thanksgiving in August...

You hear of Christmas in August,
but I'm having Thanksgiving in August.

I'm in tears right now. Probably because i'm stressed and hyper emotional today, but that is beside the point. I love my fiancĂ©. I'm so grateful for him and our life together. Everything about him gives me butterflies inside. He is amazing and mesmerizing. Every time I look into those puppy dog eyes I fall head over heels for him. He's God's perfect gift for me. The slightest touch of his hand makes my heart skip a beat. I have so much fun with him and never want to leave his side. I feel like a giddy 13 year old girl when I think about him; he makes my head spin. I've never been anywhere close to this happy. Happy doesn't even describe it.
