Yard Sale Queen strikes again!

I had a super great weekend!
It def wasn't long enough, but they never are.
Friday, Lover Boy and I got to stay in!! Wowzers, that was cool!

We didn't have any plans, so I actually cooked and we rented a movie.
It was a crap movie, but a snuggle opportunity nonetheless ;)
We rented Black Swan. We recommend it to those that have zero ounces
of moral fiber in their being.

Saturday Husband had to work, so I went yard sale hopping with mom, sis, and grandma!
We had great success, see below!
...all 46 dollars worth
This includes an estimate of
4 skirts
3 dresses
several shirts
2pairs of pants
4 pairs of shoes
2 blazers
2 cardigans
Two pieces of wall art that you will see featured in a future DIY project
8 white vintage plates for jewelry display at a future craft show
Two small saucers for display purposes
4 Forks... just because??
1 wall sconce that will be painted
A close up of the plates
I paid $1 for all the white onces, and a $.50 for the gold rimmed ones
I'm not sure what the forks are going to be used for,
but i got all four for $1

Meet Megan with no makeup
and Morgan with no makeup!
We took my fur babies to the park!

Oh the anticipaiton!
{check out that crazy muscle tone on that dog!}

 Scouting out the ducks!
this is aunt morgan giving sweet laila a pep talk about how
God created the ducks, too and that we should not eat them.
Laila is not listening.
What aunt morgan doesn't realize is that their is
duck in dog food!

Sunday we had a picnic at church it was rambunciously amazing.
RJ headed up a kick ball tourney with our fellow church members.
I'm already sore.

What did you do this weekend??

Yes, I'm a Yard Sale Queen

Yard Sale???

Yes please?
I got to go to a community-wide yard-sale on the east side of Montgomery, Alabama this past weekend.

It was so much fun!
I got so many great items of clothes that were either gently used, some were even NEW!
I got a great floppy hat for the beach!

I had a great time with my mom and sister. We hadn’t spent much time together since the wedding, and it was great to be thrifty with them. My sister got some great props for her

I was able to buy my husband some brand new dry fit shirts and some gym clothes… for $2 a piece! I got some NY&Co pants and tops for like… a dollar!!

I got a really neato frito giraffe print dress!... I even made a fool of myself trying things on in folks’ driveway; they didn’t mind… In fact they encouraged it!
you can see me here trying on
this green skirt and cover up, aka
being a goofball!

Tons of great things!

If you are too scared to yard sale; you should definitely rethink going. You’d be surprised what people will sell! I saw so many items that still had the tags on them! It’s definitely the way to go! Of course, the frustrations do exist. You have to hit some bad yard-sales to find the good ones, but in community yard sales like this one… They’re all good! This was a well-to-do (ish) neighborhood and these people all had great items! I’m telling you what, when we have kids… I will definitely go yard sale-ing for the big ticket items; maybe even clothes!! C’mon folks, anything can be sterilized!

This is definitely my new hobby:

Yesterday was my first pay day with my new big girl job.
When you work for the government, you must wait a whole month before you receive your first paycheck because of their processes and such. Well, it has been a very long month {financially}. See my anxiety story here.

Well, because we are recovering financially and rebuilding our savings account we must live “cut-back” lifestyle for a few weeks. Well, I have not been shopping for myself in a while. I mean I bought myself a plain t shirt from target the other day, but that doesn’t really count.

I had this crazy desire to just go shop and buy a few things. So… my solution?
Thrift Store!
I allowed myself $20, and I got cash out and only took in that $20 bill. No debit card. That would have been disasterous. I discovered several great finds. I found some clothes & shoes for my self {no belts. sadness.}. I also looked for fabrics to start making these nifty new rosette necklaces that I have discovered! Check out my first one I made!

I made this rosette necklace out of rolls of fabric from the thrift store.
I paid $1.25 for the white satin and $2.00 for the tan with pretty flowers. These rolls will probably make about 10 – 15 necklaces!! Yay! I may sell them… Hmm. There’s a thought.

I also purchased these shoes. I know that they aren’t super trendy or even all that “cute,” but they are VERY comfortable and fit the professional dress code I am under. Guess what? $3.00! STEAL!  The pants you see in the picture? Very nice, proffessional, tan dress pants. My size. STEAL

This weeks awkward moment def came when my dog pooped while i was briefly walking her on MAIN STREET during rush hour. I mean what do you do while your dog is pooping? Wave at the passers-by. I was def obligated to not watch her; I mean she needs privacy, too.

This weeks awesome moment Wednesday. Payday. Need I say more?
