Mommy Thoughts Thursday {PEDIATRICIAN}

I'll go ahead and say it...
I was T-TOTALLY wrong.

I thought blue all the way, and here we have a sweet
little pink Nugget.

Today's question is about the Pediatrician.

How in the world do you pick? suggests interviewing your prospect docs.
Who has time for that?
What doc has time for that?

I have no idea where to start with this one....

Congrats on your lil girl! I would suggest asking friends who have kids if they like their pediatrician. And of course make sure they'll take your insurance. And don't worry if you pick someone and then don't like them. You can change at any time! :)

I had my OB-GYN recommend some, and she told me which one she uses for her two kiddos. The one we picked is the only one we "tried"...they actually do offer a consultation. You go in towards the end of your pregnancy and meet the doctor(s), and they discuss how they feel about things (vaccines, OTC medicine, etc. etc.), as well as addressing any questions or concerns you have. It was awesome, and really put us at ease. I'm sure there are plenty of pediatricians all over that do that; just call around! :)

Many peds have appts set aside just for interviews! Everyone I work with uses Dr. Wood who has an office in P'ville I believe. Good luck!

Go to the playground or your church's sunday school and ask for referrals. We did this and went with the doctor who the parents parented like us, not necessarily the majority's choice. I was a part of MOPS and a mommy & me group... they had LOTS of opinions! Decide what you want in a doctor and then start asking! Congrats on the pink.... so sweet.

We are having the same problem finding a pediatrician for Mia. Not sure how to make an appointment for an interview...but we need one on call before we travel!!

Sorry I can't help with this one!
