conviction

I've straight up been convicted by God tonight. A.k.a.: GUILTY!!

I've been praying for God to handle my schedule and to allow things to fall into place for me so that I may have some free time to catch up on all my tasks at hand (cleaning, packing, prep for yard sale, and most importantly HOMEWORK). If you know me at all, you know that I live by a planner, schedule, and to-do list. Lately i've been trying not to let these control my life, but i've been praying about it knowing that God will provide.

Tonight after church RJ and I went to Zaxby's and took our meal to my house where we sat in the living room and spent some quality time with my family. We most often end up in my living room with my mom, dad, sister, and her boyfriend, so this was nothing out of the ordinary. After we finished our picnic on the living room floor, we watched some news and discussed the traumatic accident of a local police man. My sister ranted and raved about her "dumb" teachers, and we just carried on.

What I'm getting at is that the Lord opened my eyes tonight to VITAL minutes that I could be using to do these menial tasks that stress me out when left undone. I could have been doing homework and catching up the to-do list tonight, but I chose to take a break from reality and be re-energized by comedy central (my family).

I feel that a delicate balance of work and play should exist, and family definitely comes first. I've just hit a really tough spot here. My family is what keeps me going, but staying up til the wee hours of the morning after they have gone bed just isn't my thing.

I've talked to the Lord about this, and know that he WILL provide me with what I need. In all reality, the few hours after church wouldn't have been enough time to even place a dent in my to-do list. I need your advice. I need your opinions. Feel free to comment, feel even "free-er" to pray for my schedule. You may think this is silly, but you haven't seen my to-do list, now have you?

My question is, though, how many times do we miss answered prayers because they aren't posted on a billboard for us?

I completely understand this post... especially living by a planner myself. And I just feel that a delicate balance is needed but things must be sacrificed. Continued prayers will be answered and God will show you ways you never thought.

Anything I can do to help with "the list" please let me know. Sometimes we let all the details overwhelm us when in the end everything works out exactly as God has planned. I love you so much and I am so so so proud of you! It is well! Mommie!
