// crotch pot \\

So, if you saw my goals post from a few weeks ago, you know that I'm trying to cook more often. I have been successful at cooking. I have NOT been successful at finding good recipes. I've cooked three new meals in the crock pot. Only one of them was a hit with the husband. And, to be honest, I really only enjoyed one of them as well, but ate them because I'll eat anything. I followed the recipes to a T, they just apparently weren't our style. Needless to say, I've found two recipes that I will not be trying again. Sweet and Sour Pork Chops in the Crock pot and Sunday Pork Chops (cant find the link). We did LOVE the Crockin Girls Bacon Chicken Pasta. It was fabulous.

I guess my goal should have been to find GOOD recipes and cook. HAHA! We have not had fast food for dinner in a while, unless you count Hamburger Helper! I've cooked my taco ring recipe, and we had leftovers for days! We also had breakfast for dinner once, too!

Share with me your crock pot meals. I totally prefer those. I have a roast... I need a roast recipe!

oh... and my Mamaw has called it a Crotch Pot all my life. I grew up calling them that.

One of the easiest things to cook in the crock pot is BBQ chicken. All you have to do is throw in some chicken fresh or frozen with BBQ sauce of your choice and let it cook all day. That is my go to when I haven't planned anything, because I almost always have chicken and BBQ sauce, plus there is no prep work! Then when I get home I cook up some rice and a veggie and call it dinner! :-) I don't have recipes with me (I am at work) but I also enjoy soup out of the crockpot. thanks for this post, I really need to get my crockpot back out and use it more. It is hard to cook when you are a working mom, but the crockpot helps becuase it is there when you get home! - Love That!

Megan, I love using my crockpot but just realized I haven't really put any on my blog! I do have a loaded baked potato soup recipe on it. Please excuse the pictures. It is from when I first started blogging and I soooo need to update the photos! lol

i like to cook chicken taco meat in the cooker. I just put chicken breasts, chicken stock, taco seasoning, and a little cream of chicken soup. i let it cook all day if im working or i put it on high for about 4 hours if im home. the chicken will slowly start to fall apart and shred itself. when hubby gets home we just plop the chicken into flour tortilla shells with other fixens and call it dinner. you can also use the chicken for enchiladas or taquitos.

ps. i LOVE that you call it a crotch pot, i was confused at firs. we call it a 'cooker'

I'm like the 1st commenter. I love the BBQ chicken. That's all I do is throw in some chicken and cover it with BBQ sauce. It turned out good and you can eat it plain or on a sandwich. This is how my mom taught me to do a roast. We just put in the roast, a can of Golden Mushroom soup, and a bag of onion recipe soup and dip mix. Then I cook it on low all day.

Usually people link up a recipe, not a post looking for a recipe, lol! But I hope maybe you found something you like amongst all the recipes at Foodie Friends Friday! Thanks for checking us out ;)

I forgot one thing...for the roast...you also have to include a can of water.

This cracks me up! Crotch pot. OMG can you imagine going to register for your wedding and asking the store employee where the crotch pots are! HA!

I make roasts - all the time - so good. And I tried my hand at a lasagna, here is the recipe I posted a while back.

Have a great weekend!

What we do for roast is a can of cream of mushroom soup, a cup of water, a big dollop of steak sauce, a packet of Lipton Onion Soup and Dip Mix. It is super. Never fails to impress and easy peasy!!

Hi, over here in Australia they are called slow cookers but I still use crock pot as it was when I was a wee bit younger than you. I've had 2 of them in recent yrs and the foods always end up over cooked. I thought I wasn't putting enough food in as there's just 3 of us. Last time I put a thermometer in - on low, a bit above boiling point! So much for slow cooker now I just use it like an electric stock pot. My best is spaghetti mince. I make up about 4 kilograms mince, 8 onions, 3-4 capsicum, 8 tsp garlic, good handful mixed herbs & any other veggies that need to be used as well as several cans of crushed tomatoes and some store bought spaghetti sauce or tomato paste and cup water. Play around with amounts till you find what you like. I then freeze. We get 9 frozen meals from it, cooked in 1 day = fantastic. Also have done similar with 2-3 kilos of chicken using store bought simmer sauces added beans & carrots. Freeze as well and on meal night just need to cook pasta or rice and maybe salad or more veggies. I am unwell ATM and I have also been putting in steak, not cut up just whole slices as come from shop. Add herbs & little water. When cooked its easier to chop and we add sauces etc. Have fun

I'm sorry that we do not share like senses of humor. You indeed clicked on the post titled "crotch pot." You were obviously intrigued. You did not have to read this.

Have a blessed day.
