Destin 2012 {in a ton of pictures}

Ok, so maybe most of the pictures are of Madison, but oh well.

This past weekend my family snuck away for a getaway from reality. We got to do some awesome shopping at a local outlet mall, eat some really good seafood, and just hang out. We played card games (does anyone even do this anymore?) and played with Madison. Madison sat in the restaurant high chairs for the first time, and saw the beach for the first time - breifly. It was very cold, so I tucked her away in the Moby for the majority of the time. It was a blast; it certainly rejuvinated me after the past few crazy weeks.

In other news, the boutique opens on Thursday. I have rented a booth to sell some of my rosette goodies (necklaces, rings, bracelets), zipper pouches, headbands, and even some little guy ties. I hope that it prospers, and am confident in my creativity. My only concern is that it may take a while for the boutique to take off - at least my booth, because it's not stuff that people locally are used to seeing. The whole "support handmade" movement isn't that great in the South, but we're getting there. I'll keep you updated on the progress, and hopefully get some pictures for you guys - I think there are enough in this post :)

autumn is here

We love to be outside! The weather has been nice here, so I decided to venture outside for a little play time. It only lasted about 10 minutes, but it was great. I got to watch the world through my babies eyes. Her awe at the grass flowing in the wind, the way she'd turn her head so intently at the sound of the birds, and seeing her smell the aroma of fall for the first time. For a little bit, time stood still - and a mother and daughter enjoyed nature and the changing of seasons together.

I love fall. I love the perfect air for taking babies outside. Something about the way it smells. It gives me warm fuzzies.

Gulf Shores with My Lover

The Hubs and I finally got away for a weekend! Our New Years Resolution is to go on an "adventure" once a month. This was certainly an adventure. We left at like 9 pm... To get there around 1am. We didn't get lost or anything, but we were very sleepy and did aerobics in order to keep ourselves awake. Ok, maybe hubby didnt, but I sure did. I'm so glad I didn't turn into a shrimp; I ate so much seafood and tried several new places. I'm going to share a few of the highlights with you guys :)

Yard Sale Queen strikes again!

I had a super great weekend!
It def wasn't long enough, but they never are.
Friday, Lover Boy and I got to stay in!! Wowzers, that was cool!

We didn't have any plans, so I actually cooked and we rented a movie.
It was a crap movie, but a snuggle opportunity nonetheless ;)
We rented Black Swan. We recommend it to those that have zero ounces
of moral fiber in their being.

Saturday Husband had to work, so I went yard sale hopping with mom, sis, and grandma!
We had great success, see below!
...all 46 dollars worth
This includes an estimate of
4 skirts
3 dresses
several shirts
2pairs of pants
4 pairs of shoes
2 blazers
2 cardigans
Two pieces of wall art that you will see featured in a future DIY project
8 white vintage plates for jewelry display at a future craft show
Two small saucers for display purposes
4 Forks... just because??
1 wall sconce that will be painted
A close up of the plates
I paid $1 for all the white onces, and a $.50 for the gold rimmed ones
I'm not sure what the forks are going to be used for,
but i got all four for $1

Meet Megan with no makeup

 Scouting out the ducks!
this is aunt morgan giving sweet laila a pep talk about how
God created the ducks, too and that we should not eat them.
Laila is not listening.
What aunt morgan doesn't realize is that their is
duck in dog food!

Sunday we had a picnic at church it was rambunciously amazing.
RJ headed up a kick ball tourney with our fellow church members.
